Welcome to The Cottage Craftsman

Hoffman Pottery at The Cottage CraftsmanTHE COTTAGE CRAFTSMAN

It is with great sadness that I announce that our lease on the building that has housed The Cottage Craftsman for the last 11 years, has not been renewed. We will remain in operation in this location until Dec 28, 2016 at which point we will be closing to pack the shop and relocate.

We will be relocating to 15 Everett St in Bryson City, in a merger with Wild Fern Studios.  Parking can be found behind the White Couthouse across the street!

The Cottage Craftsman of Bryson City, NC is a unique wine shop, gallery and market located near the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Almost everything in the shop is handmade in the USA with an emphasis on local, traditional and contemporary fine art, pottery, jewelry, soaps, coffee, tea, yard art, specialty foods and wine. We specialize in presenting artists and craftspeople who live, work and play in the mountains of Western North Carolina and the surrounding region. More than half our wines are from North Carolina and the Blue Ridge. Most Saturdays from Memorial Day through October, we offer Free Wine Tastings of our chosen wines of the week.

North Carolina Wine & More

We feature fine wines from dozens of boutique wineries in North Carolina and the Blue Ridge region. You’ll find wine for everyone’s palate – from muscadine to merlot – in The Cottage Craftsman Wine Shop.   For those looking for wine from away -  we also have wines from California, Europe and South America.

Saturday Wine Tastings:

Most Saturdays from Memorial Day weekend though December, we have at various wines open for tasting.  Check our facebook page for word on what will be tasted and to keep up with specific Wine Tasting Events!

Smoky Mountain Specialty Foods

Handmade Jewelry at The Cottage Craftsman Sorghum, sourwood honey, hot sauces, BBQ sauces, jams, cheeses, cider, handmade chocolates and locally roasted organic coffee  are created in small batches in Western North Carolina kitchens for your feasting enjoyment.

The first berries of the season are picked from farms in Swain County and cooked down into mouthwatering jams.  Goats' milk is added to handmade soap along with herbs like lavender, verbena and peppermint – all from mountain gardens. And Alpine Dairy goats provide milk for delicious artisan cheese. Sauces for barbecue and hot sauces like Fire from the Mountain - all natural. They grow their own hot peppers, so you know their products are farm fresh.

Bath and Body

We love handmade soaps and lotions. Made from the finest natural ingredients, the soaps we choose to carry are the best of the best. In order to make it in our shop - we are soap snobs - these beauties have to lather well even in hard water, get you super clean and smell just great.

You will smell them the instant you walk in the door. The same superior qualities of creation and function are found in the rubs, balms, lotions and bath salts we carry. You won't be disappointed.
